Wood Installed
We decided on walnut for the bed material and an odd number of boards to center the fuel cap.
We decided on walnut for the bed material and an odd number of boards to center the fuel cap.
Starting with getting the wood down to 3/4" and 5 1/2". Not all the boards remain this width, for a couple of factors.
Next up is getting the router table dialed in for two passes per side. I used some mdf trim we had laying around for this step.
Time for the walnut boards.
Time for some finish - we decided on Odies for exterior/ UV protection. Plus, it's easy to re-apply and buff off.
When it came time for installation, we started with the center board to get the fuel cap centered and then worked outward.
